Common Household Poisons That Are Dangerous to Pets

Many everyday items in our homes and gardens can be highly toxic to pets. Below is a list of common poisons to be aware of and keep out of reach of your furry friends.
Alcohol

Even small amounts of alcohol can be dangerous to pets, leading to vomiting, tremors, difficulty breathing, and severe toxicity. Never allow pets to consume alcoholic drinks or products containing alcohol.

Avocado

Acocados contain persin, which can cause vomiting and diarrhoea in dogs and be highly toxic to birds and rabbits.
Batteries and Magnets

If chewed or swallowed, batteries can cause burns to the mouth, oesophagus, or stomach. Magnets can lead to intestinal blockages and require emergency surgery.
Bees & Wasps

Benzalkonium Chloride

A common disinfectant in household cleaning products, it can cause ulcers and irritation in the mouth if licked.
